I highly recommend Mr Rann Dara. We hired him following reviews over the internet. Like other reviewers, we concur. He made our 3-Day stay in Siem Reap enjoyable. He picked us at the airport and stayed with us the entire duration and dropped us off the airport as a happy bunch. On arrival, he helped us plan the entire trip. He has a easy going personality - good guide. His knowledge of the epics of Ramayana, Mahabharata, his country's history is extremely good. My aunt would attest this point. For scholarly folks - this would be an asset. His English is good. My elderly uncle - who came on this trip - he walks with a cane for support - also recommends Mr. Dara. Mr Dara's help in this regard is noteworthy, especially in the tougher walks of Preah Khan, Ta Prohm... On the whole, we cherish the warm hospitality of the Khmer people and in our memories marvel at the creations of their ancient kings. Having faced aggressive marketing by hawkers and guides in India, e.g. at the Taj Mahal, this is indeed a welcome surprise.

I've found Mr Dara through his website before planning this trip to Siem Reap. During our discussion through e-mails - he is more than helpful in considering which place to visit, the foods and my accommodation. He had suggested me several options and that give me some freedom to choose from. As I was traveling alone, I didn't have any problem as he waited for me in airport (he waited for me with 'big signs - I'm glad!), accompany me to all interesting places in Siem Reap. The rides I wouldnt forget is to Beng Mealea, enjoying sunset in Bakheng, sunrise at the Angkor Wat and the Ta Phrom. He is very punctual and flexible in arranging the itenary so that you guys can maximize the time spent there. Another thing I need to give him credit is eventhough is a Buddhist, he is sensitive regarding y need as Muslim. I didn't have an troubles to look for Halal foods and performen my prayer while traveling. So for those who wish to travel to Siem Reap and other province with an English tourist guide - where you can decide where, when and how long you want to spent; you can arrange it with Mr Dara."

We found Mr. Rann on the internet and booked him via e-mail. He proved himself as very reliable, competent and friendly. We asked him to be our driver and our guide. It was very comfortable to drive with him, he has a nice car and he drove carefully; it was obvious, that he new nearly every pothole in the region. As a guide he managed to guide us without meeting too much other tourists; he knows all the nice places and he told us nice stories and facts about them. We got a lot of information not only about the places of interests but also about culture, religion, politics etc.He is very polite and and I’m sure, that I again would ask him to be our guide when I return to Cambodia.

My mother, brother and I traveled to Siem Reap to visit the fabulous ancient religious complex of Angkor Wat, and we were greeted at the airport by Dara Rann. From the very beginning he demonstrated the courtesy, hospitality, and kindness that we later came to experience with so many of the Khmer people. He was a delight in every way, always arriving on time to escort us to the various temples while revealing a keen awareness of the related historical and cultural aspects that are so rich and prominent at Angkor and the surrounding environs. He helped to make this trip a very special experience, and I very much recommend him to anyone who is planning a trip to this wonderful jewel of Cambodian culture.

If you fly and/or do things on your own (like we did) I highly recommend our guide -- Mr. Dara Rann, ranndara1980@yahoo.com. He met us at the airport and turned out to be courteous, punctual and very pleasant. He is highly knowledgeable in culture and history and his English is good. He also became very funny once we got to know each other a little better. He went with us to all the Temples and gave us an amazing tour.
